Diamond bead rope saw has been widely used in the stone industry. It has three main uses: block shaping squaring, block profiling and Quarry mining. Thirty years ago, Diamant Boart Diamond Company produced the first diamond wire saw, which was mainly used for marble mining. Since Carla successfully introduced the diamond wire saw, in a few months, all quarries have released the traditional wire saw and replaced it with this new type of diamond wire saw. Diamant Boart first applied diamond wire saw to granite quarries in the 1980s. This equipment can replace the flame cutting technology with high noise for a long time. Its successful application has led to the adoption of this new processing technology in most granite quarries nowadays.
Diamond wire saw is mainly composed of diamond beads, isolation sleeve and high strength steel rope.
1:Diamond Bead.At present, the main manufacturing processes of diamond beads are electroplating, Hot-pressing Sintering and brazing. Electroplated diamond beads are relatively simple and more conducive to the production of small diameter beads. Because the diamond coating is thin, the matrix wear resistance is poor, the metal coating has limited control over diamond abrasives, and the diamond abrasives are easy to fall off in advance. Therefore, the overall performance of diamond abrasives is not as good as that of sintered beads, which is not suitable for cutting granite. At present, it is mainly used for cutting soft materials such as marble. Sintered beads have high wear resistance. By adjusting the proportion of metal components in matrix or choosing diamond abrasives of different grade, particle size and concentration, the abrasive wear rate of matrix and diamond abrasive can be adjusted, and beads with different cutting edge height and space can be manufactured to adapt to the cutting of different materials. Brazed diamond beads are manufactured by brazing method, but the large-scale engineering application of diamond wire saw Figure 9-1 has not yet been realized.
2:Isolated sleeve.The isolation sleeve is used to isolate and fix adjacent diamond beads at fixed distance. At present, there are three kinds of isolation sleeves commonly used in engineering: spring washer type, injection type and injection type. Spring washer is the earliest type of isolation sleeve. The wear debris of spring washer isolation sleeve can easily enter from the clearance between beads, springs and cushions during processing and wear the wire rope under the action of the bending motion of the wire saw, thus causing the broken rope failure of the string ball rope. Especially in the processing of granite with high quartz content, due to the high hardness of quartz and the serious abrasion of wire rope, this isolation sleeve is suitable for cutting soft materials, in order to adapt to high hardness. In order to meet the need of cutting hardness materials, injection-moulded and injection-glue isolation sleeves have been developed. Injection-moulded and injection-moulded isolation sleeves are made of wear-resistant plastics and rubber as isolation pads between beads. The beads and the wire rope are completely filled with plastic and rubber, thus avoiding the wear of the wire rope caused by the debris entering between the beads and the wire rope. It is precisely because of its appearance that the application of bead rope saw is extended to the cutting of high hardness granite materials. Among them, injection-moulding is the most widely used. The bead rope saw with rubber injection as isolation sleeve is mainly used in stone mining areas below zero Celsius and in colder areas. This is because rubber has better low-temperature performance than plastic, and can still maintain better flexibility and strength at low temperatures, without brittle cracking.
3:Wire Rope.Wire rope is the skeleton of bead rope. Diamond beads are arranged on the skeleton. During the use of bead rope saw, rope breakage often occurs due to fatigue wear, abrasive wear, chemical wear and other reasons, especially when the processing area reaches a quantitative level, rope breakage is more frequent. Broken rope not only affects production, but also brings about unsafe hidden dangers such as pearl throwing and injuring people. Therefore, the performance of wire rope is very important for the use of bead rope. In addition to the properties of the steel wire itself, the service life of the steel wire rope is also related to the pre-tension force, the minimum curvature of the guide wheels, the axial load of beads and the impact load in the process of processing. Therefore, the products of the steel wire rope enterprises should be specially manufactured, and the relevant instructions of the steel wire rope should be consulted when using them.
